Arrival

After you land
your baggage weighs
nothing.
Your only souvenirs
can be seen
on your face,
heard in your voice.
Unsure, you think
you have forgotten
something.
It remains in the cabin,
never found, never claimed.
Your flight number is
on the monitor,
showing See Agent.
You approach Security,
but they turn you away,
heads slowly shaking.
You clutch the crumpled
boarding pass,
suddenly frantic.
The terminal
grows quiet, empty, dark.
You ask yourself
if the Fasten Seatbelt sign
was ever turned off,
wonder
if you can use
any of your devices
now.
