September 5, 2013

I'm finally packed,
everything in its place,
if only I could recall
where I'm going,
what I once saw
in your face.

Like those who knew me here,
some will wonder
where I am
when I disappear.
They'll never know
how far I've gone,
still to be so near.

The truck has pulled away,
leaving empty, echoing rooms;
they're ready to start
all over again
with somebody new.
Now I'm moving
somewhere else,
I'll be
just like you.
