They say we're all

on our own journey,

traveling an unknown road

stretching far off

into the distance,

each one going

at his own speed,

some using up

every hour of time,

others speeding by,

taking hardly any at all,

some so slow

they take years and years,

others gone

by the start of the fall.

I hear them approaching

and watch them going,

passing when

I least expect it,

unable to hear me

when I call.
