I worry I'll starve,

even when

my plate is full,

that I'll awaken

lost in the street,

though I've spent

the night in your bed.

I fear you will say

you don't know me,

when our names

are finally called,

or that I'll somehow

forget your ring

on the day we're

supposed to wed.

We can be sure

of only so much,

and must put our trust

in those we doubt.

Just know I will

always be there,

when you

say my name

in the dark.
